The new headquarters of ULSS 12 (local health authority) based in Favaro Veneto spans two floors and an attic floor, covering a total area of 5,350 square metres.
The factors that led STEAM to choose the architectural features for the hospital district included the special nature of the land, the willingness to combine tradition with modernity, the light, the desire to establish an ongoing dialogue between the internal and external parts of the building, and access for everyone.
From an environmental point of view, a concrete contribution was required to implement environmentally sustainable construction. The hospital district was created using renewable energy sources and their efficient use.
The energy for operating the heat pump cooling and heating systems is produced by photovoltaic panels positioned on the roof of the hospital district building, and by exploiting geothermal resources.
