Full Professor of Environmental Control Technology at the Faculty of Architectural Construction at IUAV, the University Institute of Architecture of Venice until May 2010.
Born in Padua on 19 May 1951, he graduated in Mechanical Engineering in Padua on 25 July 1974 with top marks.
In 1974, he passed the state exam to practise the profession and joined the Order of Engineers of the Province of Padua, registered as no. 1119, on 21/01/1977.
He is registered on the list of professionals as prescribed by the Ministerial Decree of 25/03/1985, set out in Law 818/1984, as no. 0111, of the declaration issued by the Order of Engineers of the Province of Padua.
Since 1992, he has also been enrolled on the Regional List of Test Engineers of the Veneto region.
Since 2002, he has been on the List of Competent Technicians in Environmental Acoustics under Article 2, paragraphs 6 and 7 of Law 447/9.
He is a qualified technical expert in compliance with Legislative Decree 115/2008 and Legislative Decree 75/2013. He has been accredited by the Regione Veneto as a certifier for the Ve.Net. energy – buildings section since 2013.
Since 1 October 1974, he has collaborated with the Institute of Technical Physics at the Engineering Faculty of the University of Padua, as Appointed Assistant, Ministry Scholarship Holder, and then as Assistant Professor of Refrigeration Technology.
From the academic year 1978/79 to 1982/83 he was the Appointed Professor of Technical Physics and Systems at IUAV (University Institute of Architecture of Venice).
From the academic year 1983/84 to 1989/90 he held the position of Associate Professor of Technical Physics at the Engineering Faculty of the University of Padua.
From the academic year 1985/86 to 1991/92 he was a temporary professor for the Applied Acoustics and Technical Lighting Course at the same faculty.
Then from the academic year 1996/97 to 2002/2003, he held the Technical Systems Course for the degree course in History and the Preservation of Historical and Artistic Heritage. Following this, up to 2010, he held the Environmental Control Technology Course as part of the degree course in Architecture.
He has written more than 160 scientific publications including educational volumes, articles published abroad in International Journals, as well as papers presented at International Scientific Conferences.
With regard to the A.I.C.A.R.R. (Italian Association of Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration), of which he is currently Vice-president, Prof. Strada has also compiled the draft proposal of Legislation concerning climate control systems for operator departments.
Since 1998, he has been a member of the Scientific Committee of the C.I.R.I.A.F. (Inter-University Research Centre for Pollution by Physical Agents).
He is a member of ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, Inc.), an ordinary member of the S.I.A.I.S (Italian Society for Architecture and Engineering in Health), and since July 2001 of the I.I.A.V. (International Institute of Acoustics and Vibration).
From 2008 to 2011, he was a member of the team of the Iraq Health Task Force at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
From 2007 to 2012, he was the Associate Director of the branch based in Doha (Qatar) of the joint venture between Steam Srl and Technital S.p.A.
He was Works Manager for the implementation of the New Single Hospital Complex of Monselice – Este (PD), with 430 beds completed in April 2015.
He was the Test Engineer during the construction of the mechanical systems for the New Tuscan Hospitals of Prato, Pistoia, Lucca and Delle Apuane.
